How to get involved

1. Join a Committee

Thank you for your interest in joining the Technical Committee. Committees are responsible for reviewing and updating the standards and guidelines. We are looking for members who are committed, knowledgeable, and collaborative. Please fill out the form below to express your interest and qualifications for the committee. We will review your application and contact you soon.

Technical Committees:

Technical Committees (TC) are established for the purpose of preparing standards or other normative documents.

Current List of Developed Technical Committees by the BBSQ

Membership:

Membership to a TC includes representation from all interested stakeholders, inclusive of the following:

  • industry – consumer groups
  • government organizations – other stakeholders
  • academia

Once established, Technical Committees (TC’s) meet on a scheduled basis to discuss and reach decisions specific to its scope of work, through a cooperative consensus process.

2. Standards for Public Comments

We invite the public to provide feedback and suggestions on the current standards that are under review. You can access these standards by clicking on the links below. We appreciate your participation and contribution to improving our standards.

NEW WORK ITEM PROPOSAL

A formal proposal for the development, revision, or adoption of a standard shall be submitted to the Bahamas Bureau of Standards and Quality (BBSQ). Proposals without adequate justification risk rejection or referral to the proposer.
