Minister of Economic Affairs Attends BBSQ Board Meeting, Highlights Importance of Quality Standards

Minister of Economic Affairs, Senator the Hon. Michael B. Halkitis, emphasized the critical role of the Bahamas Bureau of Standards and Quality (BBSQ) in promoting quality and safety standards during a board meeting at their Bacardi Road headquarters.

The Bahamas Bureau of Standards and Quality (BBSQ) hosted the Minister of Economic Affairs, Senator the Hon. Michael B. Halkitis, at a board meeting held at their Bacardi Road headquarters. Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Chairman Pauline V. Curry and Executive Director Dr. Renae Ferguson-Bufford.

During the meeting, Minister Halkitis highlighted BBSQ’s essential role in maintaining quality and safety standards across The Bahamas. He emphasized the importance of quality promotion, raising awareness about these efforts, and encouraging stronger collaboration with both government and private sector partners to promote quality standards.

The Minister expressed his gratitude to the board for their dedication and valuable contributions to BBSQ’s mission, stressing the importance of standards in enhancing the quality of life for Bahamians and preserving the environment.
