BBSQ recently completed an in-depth training session with Fabian Scott from the Barbados National Standards Institution to enhance its Standards Officers’ skills in standardization and certification activities.
The Bahamas Bureau of Standards and Quality (BBSQ) is proud to announce the successful completion of an intensive in-person training session held from November 14th to 20th, 2024. This training is part of a broader initiative launched in May 2024, designed to enhance the skills and technical knowledge of BBSQ’s Standards Officers. This session was led by Mr. Fabian Scott, Deputy Director of the Barbados National Standards Institution (BNSI).
Executive Director Dr. Renae Ferguson-Bufford, alongside Standards Officers Lakell Spencer and Alexander King, expressed their gratitude to Mr. Scott for delivering a highly engaging and insightful training programme. The training, which is set to continue virtually until February 2025, covers key topics such as standards development, certification processes, and the foundational skills required for effective regional and international collaboration.
Mr. Scott visited The Bahamas to attend the Made in The Bahamas Town Hall Meeting, where he offered valuable insights into regional best practices. As part of his visit, Mr. Scott hosted this training session in person as opposed to virtually. His contributions further solidified the importance of standardization in driving economic development and fostering trade.
