In celebration of World Standards Day, the Bahamas Bureau of Standards and Quality (BBSQ) hosted an insightful panel discussion at Crypto Isle, centered around this year’s theme: “Achieving Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure through AI.” The event featured esteemed panelists including Duran Humes, CEO of Plato Alpha Design, Onassis Nottage, Co-Founder and Managing Director of RSLT Lab, and Hussain Hadi, Head of Publishing at at the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
The discussion explored the crucial role that standards play in driving innovation, economic growth, and sustainability, with a particular focus on emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI). Each panelist provided valuable perspectives on how the implementation of AI standards could shape the future of technology in The Bahamas and beyond.
BBSQ Executive Director Dr. Ferguson-Bufford emphasized the importance of initiating conversations around AI standards for The Bahamas, hoping this event marks the beginning of meaningful progress in this area. Also, bringing remarks were BBSQ Chairwoman Ms. Pauline V. Curry and board member Mr. Cadrington Coleby.
